#dtseczpeople: Mauro

5.8.2021

This time we interviewed Mauro, a process manager in our Procure to Pay Department.

Would you like to tell us something about yourself?

I studied economics in Italy and graduated in 2002.  Since 2003, I have been living and working abroad: Norway, Spain, Mozambique, Greece, UK and Czech Republic.
My work experiences are mostly in Finance and Project Management. I also worked as a language teacher and an entertainer.
During my free time, I usually practice some sports: tennis and biking mostly in spring and summer, running and gym during the cold seasons.

What are you most proud of at work?

My job is about making improvements to the process: I am proud when I actually make one (possibly  within the planned target date).

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started with us?

Use the first weeks to get acquainted mostly with the environment. Ask a question every time something is not clear to you: make a good use of your buddy.

Is there something that has made you smile recently?

Planking time every day at 10:50 is always fun!

What is your favorite guiding principle and why?

When I joined, I chose „Team together – Team apart“ because I knew that most of my responsibilities will include cooperation with remote colleagues.
Though, I would say that the most actual guiding principle for me now is „Stay curious and grow“.

Recommend a book you recently read.

„Rich Dad Poor Dad“ by Robert T. Kiyosaki. It gives an interesting perspective on financial life: it explains how easily an individual can fall into the “rat race “. It also gives ideas and food for thought on how to avoid it.
