My path to DTSE - Yuliia
7.9.2021
Stories from colleagues, how they got to our company, how the recruiting process went, and even some tips on how to prepare for interviews.
What’s your role at DTSE?
I am a new member of the Digitalization team. I’ve been working in DTSE CZ as a Data Scientist since August 2021. My duties are optimizing and executing existing analysis processes, enhancing our current mining solutions process, and managing data models established with our clients.
Why did you decide to apply for DTSE?
To be honest, I didn’t intend to change my job, and I had my first online interview rather out of curiosity. However, it left a lasting impression on me. I felt like I found exactly what I didn’t even know I was looking for.
As I started thinking about it, I realized I was no longer enjoying my current work, and I wanted to improve myself, gain new skills and learn new things. I’ve only heard good reviews of the company. Working here is more than just a job. You find a welcoming community where everyone respects and supports each other. So, for me, the choice was obvious. :)
How did the application and interview process go for you?
During the first interview, Veronika Staňková from the HR department made a wonderful impression on me and gave me the best possible introduction to the organization. I also met my future manager Kateřina Hložková in order to discuss my job description and the key points of my work. What I felt was professionalism and a friendly atmosphere which I immediately wanted to become a part of.
What do you wish you’d known when you started the process?
I wish I had known that all the interviewers and my future colleagues are friendly and welcoming people so that I wasn’t that nervous at the beginning!
How did the Onboarding process go for you?
Fortunately, I had my onboarding day in the office and enjoyed that day with my new coworkers in person. So, I met not only my team members but also colleagues from IT and HR departments. I even had a private tour of our building!
The onboarding process was really well structured, not only that day but also during the first two weeks. I had a lot of planned briefings, both with the entire team and one-on-one meetings with colleagues who I was going to work with more often or, conversely, the ones I would meet less frequently. It is nice that DTSE uses the Buddy system, and I had an assigned colleague who helped me during the onset and was always ready to advise me on everything. So, I will take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Branislav Potocký, whom I am very grateful to for the time he has given and for all the support.
In conclusion, I just want to say that even though the official onboarding has already been done, I believe that the most interesting things are still ahead. I’m already looking forward to those challenges.
